Why use PWL for your editing needs?
Well that is simple. As a writer myself, I know what it can be like when you're in those final/crucial phases of your book, and as hard as it may be, it's probably time to let your new baby book go. Before you do that you need an extra set of eyes. Someone who will give you honest feedback and catch all those pesky typos that are hiding throughout the pages. As an avid reader/reviewer I work with an OUTSTANDING amount of indie & self-published authors. Nothing pains me more than to read a book with the potential to be GREAT, but due to the lack of editing the story falls short.
That's where PWL comes in.
I will tirelessly comb over your book to help make it the very best that it can be. I will edit for everything from content, punctuation, spelling, grammar, and improper word placement. To things such as flow. Because let's face it, we have all read a book, and the flow has just been off, leaving the novel feeling choppy and mediocre. In this case it is usually just a matter of choosing the right words, and sentence structure. You would be amazed how just this alone can take your novel from 2 stars to 4, or even 5 stars!
The Down-Low:
Requirements: PWL requires all manuscripts to be in a Word Document in 12 pt text double spaced with 1" margins. You will receive this mailed back to you upon completion with corrections and feedback.
Pricing: 1/2 cent per word. We accept books of all lengths.
How to pay: Paypal is the payment accepted. It's fast, it's free, it's safe. (Yes there really is a free way to use Paypal. We will email you info letting you know how.)
When to pay: Half up front before we start the project, and the final half when we email you that your manuscript is complete.
Language: All manuscripts need to be in English.
What we are looking for: At the current moment PWL is accepting any genre of YA novels. However we also accept other genres upon approval. For approval please send us an email including the following: genre of book, appox. word count, synopsis, and an excerpt from your book. We will get back to you with 48 hours of your request. UPDATE: PWL is now also accepting Contemporary and Paranormal Romance due to popular demand.
When you can expect your manuscript back: The editing process can take up to two weeks depending on the length of your story. I will notify you ahead of time if I believe it will take longer. You will receive my undivided attention. Meaning I will only work on one manuscript at a time. I will also be there for you once we return your manuscript to you in case you have any questions about the edits I've made. However, for shorter stories for instance, the turn around time may be even shorter.
The fine print: I do ask that upon publication of your book that you mention PWL Editing Services in the credits. This just helps spread the word about PWL. Also I obtain the right to reject a manuscript for various reasons. (workload, time constraints, content, ect.) Please be advised that we are here to give you honest feedback, even if that feedback may be slightly brutal. You may choose to use, and or, ignore any suggestions we make to your manuscript. We will NOT change your manuscript, or mold it into something it wasn't intended to be. The story is yours, we are just here to help make it shine! However, if after initial edits, you decide you would like for us to re-write sections of your story this an option for additional charge. Pricing for re-writes are based on individual situations.
